An inside look at the original sketches of the Love Brings Love tribute show’s designs

The Love Brings Love tribute show, hosted in Paris earlier this month during Fashion Week, featured the participation of 45 designers, from renowned names to emerging talents, who each presented an exclusive look inspired by Alber’s design aesthetic and creative spirit. Now, we take you behind the scenes for an insider’s peek at the original sketches of some of the looks that walked down the runway that night.

Olivier Rousteing featured his Balmain glamazon emerging from an ethereal mist in a fierce, power-shouldered mini dress adorned with an illustrated portrait of Alber.

Dries Van Noten, on the other hand, showcased his look alongside personal scribbled design notes. It describes using photographic jacquard for his enlarged Alber Elbaz portrait and details of the custom-made headpiece by Stephen Jones.

Finally, Maria Grazia Chiuri’s cartoon-inspired Dior sketch was a burst of color and print, for an up close and personal view of the drawings adorning the dress.

The participation of AZ Factory’s own design team was an especially emotional one, a tribute to the masterful creative and a heartfelt goodbye to their beloved founder. The note below is a powerful message of love, and a reminder of the core values Alber held dear, values which he shared with everyone around him, family, friends, colleagues or mere acquaintances.

"Dearest Alber, you took a chance on us, bringing us together to create your dream factory. You showed us how to follow our hearts. You dazzled us with your intuitive genius. You urged us to think of solutions first, to push the boundaries, to make the impossible possible. You taught us that no dream is too big and no detail is too small. We will never forget to stay determined, to create with intent, and to impose meaning and purpose on everything that we do. We will honor your promise of love, trust, and respect. We will treasure our memories of you, your kindness, your laughter, your emotions, your contradictions, your limitless creativity. We will forever cherish your stories, your generosity, your humble spirit, your love, and your joy. We miss you, we will love you always."
